  • What areas do you serve?
Great question! For private events, we can help secure an event venue, at cost, around Central Los Angeles. Alternately, the party can be brought to yours or a friend's home, if suitable. Photos of the event space, rented or otherwise, will be required in order for decorations to be catered to the specific space. For events located in areas outside of the Central LA area, please send us a message for an additional transportation quote. For public events, we will be securing private venues that are easily accessible, and central. For Consulting and Game in a Box, we currently ship to the US and Canada. Please reach out if you are interested but in a different country; we may be able to help you with enough notice!

  • Where can my party be held?
We can help source an event venue at cost, or the party can be held at someone's home. We require photos of the event space in order to cater the decorations to the specific space being used.
  • What is your refund policy?
Booking and change fees remain non-refundable. Ticket prices are 100% refundable up to 14 days prior to the event. This gives the host an opportunity to find a replacement guest in time for the party. Tickets are 50% refundable between 7-13days before the event. Tickets are non-refundable within 7 days of the event date. At these time points, it becomes increasingly difficult to replace characters, and jeopardizes the game. No shows are non-refundable. The party requires a set number of people for it to work. If anyone is missing or drops out last minute, the game may not be saved. ONLY PURCHASE TICKETS IF YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN ATTEND. For Private Events only: If, in the event that most people have to cancel, you may reschedule once without penalty if notice is given at least 14 days before the event. Dying 4 Fun will also try to accommodate a smaller party for the same day, if possible and with a change fee. For Consulting and Game in a Box: Charges are non-refundable.
  • Is dinner a provided service?
Catered events may be provided. Please check specific event details, or inquire about your private event.
  • Can I make a last minute guest list change?
Dying 4 Fun will try to accomodate your needs as best as possible, however keep in mind that it is easier to add guests than it is to take away. Our smallest package is for 6 people, so we cannot accept a party smaller than that. A change fee will be incurred for any changes due to material licensing, and is not refundable.
  • Do I get to keep the decorations?
No. The decorations are property of Dying 4 Fun. Any theft or destruction of them will result in a replacement fee.
  • What types of groups can play?
For Private Events: We can source games for the following types of groups: Adults (Co-Ed) Teens Kids LGBT (Male or Female) Clean All Male or all Female groups During your consult just let us know what you have in mind! For Public Events: Our public events are themed for adults and are co-ed.
  • Do you do corporate or church events?
We certainly can! Just book a consult and we can work out the details and give you a quote!
  • I don't care for the themes available. Do you have any others?
New themes will become available periodically, but we can certainly try to find one that is better suited for your private party! Just book a consultation, and we can discuss. Public parties will usually have one or two themes per month. If none of them are desireable to you, let us know! We will do our best to schedule a theme that you'd like for the next month.
  • Do I need to know how to act?
No! You don't need to have any sort of acting skills to participate. You will have a vital role to fill, but you will have set objectives to talk about. In addition, your personal and secret character sheet describes the character you will embody for the evening. Looking the part is also key to not feeling out of place.
  • What am I supposed to wear?
Upon purchasing your ticket and providing your mailing address, we will mail you your new alias. This will provide crucial and secret information about your new personality, things you know, and who you know. At the bottom, you will find a nice little guide with costume suggestions. It is imperative that you dress for your part! Thrift stores are the best place to look for affordable costumes! Remember, this is meant to be fun so exaggerate and be ridiculous!
  • Is it scripted? How will I know what to do/say?
Each person will receive an envelope at the appropriate stage of the party. In these envelopes you'll find your list of objectives and secret information that only you may know for that round. Keep the info close, you never know who's lurking!
  • How do I play?
It's simple! First: get to know your character with the character sheet we mailed to you. Pick out a great costume to match their personality. Second: Come to the party! The party is divided into two phases: pre-murder, and post-murder. You will receive an envelope when you arrive for the first phase. Complete the objectives within, and get to know your fellow guests (even if they aren't on your list!). Then the murder happens. Afterwards, you will be handed your second envelope, and just as the first obtain more information about the trajedy using your objective sheet. Third: Don't worry! We will be there to help and answer any questions (except for whodunnit!) At the end, we will tally up the accusations, best dressed, and best actor. Awards will be presented to the winners, and the murderer will be revealed! Don't worry, all of this will be explained prior to beginning!
  • Who gets to participate?
Everyone! This isn't like those theater dinners where you just watch the action. You ARE the action! Because Dying 4 Fun handles all prep work and moderation, even the host gets to kick back and have stress-free fun!
  • What is Dying 4 Fun's role during the party?
D4F will act as moderator of the event. There are different phases, everyone needs to be moving through their objectives, and of course the timing of the murder! We will be the ones to explain the details and rules, hand out the envelopes at the appropriate time, make sure the victim knows who they are, and keep things flowing. We will also be there to answer any questions the guests have!
  • What happens if I am late or can't make it?
PLEASE be on time, and only purchase your ticket if you can make it. Having people not show or back out ruins the game for everyone else! You might be the most crucial player in the game, so if you are late or don't show, it throws everything off. Who knows, YOU could be the murderer, and what's a murder mystery without the culprit?! Please also refer to the Refunds tab in the FAQ for any questions regarding a ticket refund.
